Yi Zao Ji

Yi Zao Ji: Reflections on Traditional Chinese and Japanese Theatre, part of the Academic Library of the Chinese National Academy of Arts, is divided into three sections. The first section focuses on the study and understanding of indigenous Chinese traditional opera (xiqu), including research and analysis of the most important theorists in the field-Zhang Geng, Guo Hancheng, and A Jia-as well as investigations and observations of regional opera genres. The second section examines traditional Japanese theatre and Japanese cultural phenomena, including studies of the artistic essence of Noh, Kyogen, and Kabuki.
