The work is already yours. Now take the title.Somebody runs the executive's world: the priorities, the follow-ups, the room prep, the quiet diplomacy. That somebody is you. And increasingly, companies give that work a name - chief of staff - with a seat at the table to match. Over 7,200 chiefs of staff were hired in 2024 alone (Chief of Staff Network). This field guide is the playbook for the jump: reframing years of EA work as strategic operating experience, closing the specific gaps that stall EA candidacies, building the evidence file, winning the internal pitch or the external search - and surviving your first 90 days in the seat. It's honest about the odds: most chief-of-staff hires still come from strategy and ops backgrounds, and the title jump is a campaign, not a formality. Every claim is sourced; nothing is promised. What you'll have is a plan.Stop being the secret. Become the strategy.Part of The Field Guides from Empire Publishing: researched, honest, no-fabrication career guides with a concrete "Do This Now" action in every chapter.
