Abdullah Ibrahim (die ook heeft opgenomen als Dollar Brand) is een van de beroemdste muzikanten van Zuid-Afrika. Zijn belangrijke anti-apartheidslied Mannenberg wordt beschouwd als een onofficieel volkslied in Zuid-Afrika. Hij trad zelfs op bij de inauguratie van Nelson Mandela, waar Mandela hem "onze Mozart" noemde.
