In general, gameplay consists in following the comic's panels which contain clues, riddles and traps and making choices about where to go and what to do, while using your visual perception to collect clues and be smart enough to resolve the riddles. In de Adventure by Book-serie bepalen jouw keuzes hoe het verhaal zich voortzet. Elk stripboek bevat plaatjes waarin cijfers verstopt zitten. De cijfers geven opties weer die jouw personage kan nemen. Onderweg zul je puzzels oplossen, voorwerpen verzamelen en gevaren ontwijken en jouw eigen verhaal maken. Er zijn er meerdere routes beschikbaar voordat je het einddoel behaalt.
