Integrating young People into the Labour Market: case Study: A study on graduates of Commercial Apprenticeship Programme in Presidente Prudente region São Paulo State

The study demonstrated diversity among the young people who participated in the programme, and their distinct personal and professional life goals characterise interests that permeate their future as qualified professionals in the labour market. According to IPEA research (2005), the period in which young people participating in the Apprenticeship Programme in Trade in Goods and Services find themselves, due to their age group, is a period of uncertainty and transition, as it is necessary for young people to make fundamental decisions that will guide their future, with repercussions throughout their adult lives. Considering that technological advances are becoming increasingly intense, it should be emphasised that the search for a place in the labour market and, consequently, the focus on the professional profile requirements for hiring are more intense, leading to greater demand for a place in the labour market, which is limited by demand. This is reflected in younger people who do not have professional experience, making it difficult for them to secure a place in the labour market.
