Jeanne Guyon's Mystical Interpretation of Divinization, Volume 2: Her Biblical Commentary on St. Matthew's Gospel

In volume 2 of Jeanne Guyon's Mystical Interpretation of Divinization: Her Biblical Commentary on St. Matthew's Gospel, we read wisdom about the transformation called divinization. Jeanne Guyon describes details about the symbolic and hidden journey to union with God. Guyon writes about the soul's divinization, "Like fondue, her soul, melted and dissolved, flows without difficulty into God, like pure and clear water passes into the smallest place." She affirms that people receive mystical perfection and divinization, as their souls desire God and receive the infusion of the Holy Spirit. Jeanne Guyon interprets Jesus Christ's sacrifice at the crucifixion as his eternal generation for all humanity. Her commentary on St. Matthew's Gospel, filled with symbolic interpretation of these biblical narratives, offers specific details of how to journey into life lived in the heart of the Trinity, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
