Na 8 jaar is er eindelijk weer nieuwe muziek van Vancouver's Pink Mountaintops. 'Brainchild' Stephen McBean, ook bekend van Black Mountain, wordt dit keer bijgestaan door muzikanten uit bands als Melvins, Redd Kross en Destroyer. 'Peacock Pools' is Pink Mountaintops' vijfde album, werd gemixed door Dave Ogilvie (bekend van o.a. Skinny Puppy, David Bowie en Nine Inch Nails) en is wederom 'an eclectic, personal and twisted happening; it sounds crazy, nerdy, funky & funny and also sometimes pretty noisy & rocky - a freewheeling and bombastic emotional rollercoaster, always moving, uplifting and outgoing!'. Ze noemen het zelf een mix van 'alternative country, indie space garage pop and psychedelic rock'.
