Sophion, Uncle Humph and The Second Box of Joy

Young Melody has scarcely learned her new song of Mercy Without End when she discovers something curious: songs, like sandwiches, are happiest when shared. So when she hears that Old Elizabeth has received a mysterious Box of Joy of her own, Melody packs a few things, a smile, and a song-and journeys beyond the Second Hills to visit her.The Second Box of Joy(TM) is a playful tale about hospitality, humility, friendship, and the contagious nature of Joy. Because sometimes LOVE OFTEN TRAVELS, sometimes Joy leaps-and sometimes getting community started is as simple as showing up with a song. So Melody packs what little she has-a few things, a smile, and a song-and sets out to visit her.Not because she has to.But because LOVE OFTEN TRAVELS.When Melody finally arrives, Old Elizabeth greets her with laughter, tears, open arms-and a blessing Melody never expected to receive. Then Elizabeth opens her own Box of Joy, and an extraordinarily young herald named John hears Melody's song, leaps for JOY, and begins dancing his way into a much larger story. The Second Box of Joy(TM) is a playful tale about hospitality, friendship, humility, and the contagious nature of Joy. It reminds us that sometimes songs break out of our hearts and through the walls of pain and loneliness simply because someone was willing to carry one to somebody else.Like every book in The Mabuhay Stories(TM), this tale invites readers to read aloud, illuminate their own lifelong edition, share the story together-and, if they wish, sing along with the 45-second Melody of Grace and Mercy and Peace, Mercy Has No End.Because sometimes Love travels.Sometimes Joy leaps. And sometimes getting community started begins with something as simple as showing up with a song.Frequently.Mabuhay!
