Sophion, Uncle Humph and The Third Box of Joy: 8

Sophion(TM), Uncle Humph(TM) and The Third Box of Joy(TM)What happens when the world is tired, the road is long, the butterscotch is gone - and all you have left to give is a song?In Sophion, Uncle Humph and The Third Box of Joy, Melody and Joe the Builder make their way to Dave's Town with very little except one another, a melody, and the willingness to keep going. When there is nowhere comfortable left to stay, they discover that even a stinky stable can become a place where something wonderfully unexpected happens. There, among lanterns, hay, weary creatures, shepherds, songs, and the ordinary smells of life, Jesse - the Prince of Mercy and Chief Steward of the Mysteries of Community - arrives in the world as a baby. And suddenly Joy begins spreading outward: through shepherds and neighboring valleys, through music and dancing, and even into the stars themselves.Gentle, funny, reverent, and made for reading aloud, Sophion, Uncle Humph and The Third Box of Joy is a Kadayawan Valley retelling of the Nativity that invites readers young and old to wonder whether the greatest gifts may arrive in the humblest places - and whether the song we have to give might be enough to make someone else's journey a little lighter.Like every Mabuhay Story, this book invites its owner to become part of the telling by illustrating the pages themselves and creating a one-of-a-kind lifelong edition. Because in the Kadayawan Valley, stories are not merely something we read. They are something we make together. And sometimes the most unexpected box of all contains what we all want and need most in this life: JOY!
