The Chef Who Melted Her: Sweethearts We Left Behind

Tasha has built her life around one simple rule: **she is always in control.** As the fiercely confident manager of a small-town restaurant, she knows how to command a kitchen, handle difficult employees, and make sure everyone knows exactly who is in charge. What she doesn't know how to handle is Erik, the handsome former jock who walks through her restaurant doors twenty-five years after they first shared a spark in high school. Back then, Tasha was the mysterious goth girl and Erik was the popular athlete. They came from completely different worlds, but for a brief time, something passed between them that neither ever completely forgot. Now they're older, wiser, and far more certain about what they want, and the attraction that once simmered beneath teenage awkwardness has become impossible to ignore. Working together only makes things worse. Every argument carries an edge of desire. Every lingering glance feels like a challenge. And Erik seems to possess a remarkable talent for getting past the tough exterior Tasha has spent decades perfecting. When the restaurant closes and the professional boundaries begin to blur, Tasha discovers a side of herself she has kept hidden for years. She likes the tension. She likes being challenged. And most dangerously of all, she discovers that with the right man, surrendering control can feel nothing like weakness. But a workplace romance comes with consequences, and the closer Tasha and Erik become, the more they'll have to decide whether what they're feeling is simply old chemistry reignited or something powerful enough to change both their lives. Because sometimes the person who knew you before you became an adult is the one who knows exactly how to uncover the parts of you everyone else has never seen.
